About this Blog

We're librarians, so you won't be surprised to hear that we spend a lot of time helping people find the right book. And you know how it is when you do something a lot, you start to do it without thinking.

So when we read the newspaper, listen to talk radio, or watch a Hollywood TV news show, our brains sometimes still act like we're at work. If we see an interesting story, we start to think of books that connect to that story. Most of all, we puzzle over ways to learn more about current events while still having a great time with a good book. We thought we'd share our ideas with you — a "what to read after reading the news" list — and this blog was born!

You might also have suggestions for what to read next. Share them! Please, let us know if you think our book suggestions are good, terrible, or kind of crazy. If there's a recent news story that inspired you to read a book, share that too!
