Poem: You will see the light... one day, by Karen

Posted on Friday November 20, 2009 by Sara Ryan

I’m looking down on the earth

The grounds cracked,

Cracked with emotion, cracked

with sole, cracked to core

Life is hard, I can see that

and death is easy, just the

guts to jump,

One week maybe two and you’re

their and your ready,

Just one push, one moment can

change your life

Just the willpower to slit

the blue wire that controls

you,

 And it’s over… your gone,

can you see me yet?

Why is it that nearly 60% of

the world’s population is in

poverty?

And why is it that they

choose to live?

Day in and day out surviving

on things that most people

take for granted

Here’s why.

Life…

Life maybe hard, its no

picnic but its real

Going to bed without food,

that’s real,

It is!

Children being raped so they

survive another day on the

streets

That’s real

But can’t you see life is all

they have; they might not

have a home to go to

Security or even love

But I can tell you this they

have me,

I may not at times be able to

do the things you want me to

do

But I promise I’m their,

always

If I had one wish just one

wish my sole would turn into

a physical feature and my

heart would be air

I would help, help you out of

this

Be strong my love, be strong

I can see you now, don’t

worry, don’t cry, I am here

And always will be

Because I am your friend,

your family, your love

Because sweetheart

I am your God! And poverty

will never separate you from

me

Never

Make a difference, give a

chance, give hope and most of

all let love conker all!!!!

Make poverty history and let

the sun rise once more
