Teen Council Retreat=Awesome!

Posted on Tuesday May 13, 2008 by Sara Ryan

Hey everybody -- So glad so many of you were able to make it to the Teen Council Retreat on May 3rd! For those of you who couldn't come, don't worry, we'll definitely be doing this again. And we still have some t-shirts left (L and XL) so let your friendly librarian know if you need one.

The most popular ideas that came out of the retreat:

  • Doing skits about the library for younger kids (Connect to Portland Parks and Recreation?)
  • Multimedia presentation about libraries for younger kids
  • Podcasting
  • Hip-hop classes, including breakdancing -- If you know a good teacher for these, tell me who they are in the comments!
  • Field Day (Jelly Beans, Musical Chairs, Pictionary) -- Someone will have to explain the 'jelly beans' part to me
  • Trips: rollerskating, mini golf, go-carts, Ground Kontrol, bowling

Annica Stivers took some fabulous photos -- here are a couple:

And here's the "Books" video that debuted at the retreat!
