Teen Writing Workshop with Melissa Lion

Wednesday, January 30th, 2008. 4:30-6 pm

Northwest Library, 2300 NW Thurman

This workshop will get aspiring writers started and focused on their stories. It will cover the elements of fiction – point of view, plot, voice, setting and structure. It will also offer suggestions for avoiding writer's block and students will use writing exercises inspired by the instructor’s former teachers, Susan Vreeland and Michael Chabon.

Melissa Lion is a Random House novelist and will also offer instruction on the process of getting published.

If you click one of the book covers, you'll get into the library catalog and you can put the book on hold so you can check it out before the workshop. Registration required; call 503.988.5560.
